Role Overview:
We’re looking for a strategic and energetic Head of Performance Marketing to lead our PPC and SEO teams and drive full-funnel growth for our B2B tech clients. You’ll combine deep channel expertise, strong leadership, and AI-powered innovation to scale high-impact acquisition programs. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll shape strategy, mentor your team, and consult clients — without getting pulled deep into day-to-day execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
* Drive the overarching performance marketing vision and execution across PPC and SEO, ensuring alignment with business goals and revenue growth objectives.
* Inspire and lead the performance marketing team, setting the tone for high-energy collaboration, innovation, and results-driven thinking.
* Champion a growth mindset throughout the organization, actively pursuing new opportunities and continuously challenging the status quo to improve performance.
Entrepreneurial Ownership & Department Growth
* Own the strategic and financial performance of the Performance Marketing department — including KPIs, delivery quality, resourcing, and profitability.
* Act as an internal entrepreneur — continuously identifying opportunities to expand and evolve our performance offering (e.g., AI-driven services, new channel tactics, workflow automation).
* Pilot and validate new monetization models or growth experiments that align with client needs and create value for 42DM.
* Collaborate with agency leadership to shape pricing strategies, delivery models, and service packaging that enable scale and efficiency.
* Proactively assess team capacity, hiring needs, and skills development to align with evolving service demand.
Campaign Oversight & Strategic Consulting
* Act as the senior performance marketing advisor across 42DM’s top-tier clients — guiding campaign direction, reviewing channel performance, and stepping in during strategic pivots or underperformance.
* Lead with a clear project control panel — overseeing KPIs, identifying bottlenecks, and ensuring every account delivers outcomes aligned with client goals and agency commitments.
* Empower and mentor PPC/SEO seniors to own day-to-day delivery while ensuring alignment with full-funnel strategy and long-term success.
Channel Strategy & Accountability (PPC & SEO)
* Own the strategic vision for PPC and SEO — defining success criteria, budget allocation models, and integrated full-funnel workflows.5
* Review and approve campaign strategies developed by senior specialists, provide feedback, and ensure consistency in execution quality and data-driven decision-making.
* Ensure SEO and Paid teams operate with agility and are aligned with emerging trends, AI tools, and high-impact acquisition channels.
AI-Powered Performance
* Leverage AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance campaign performance, optimizing PPC targeting, SEO content strategies, and overall marketing effectiveness.
* Stay ahead of AI trends and incorporate innovative AI techniques into performance marketing strategies, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of digital marketing evolution.
* Experiment with AI-driven approaches, testing new tools and technologies to continuously innovate and drive results.
Team Building, Coaching & Collaboration
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of PPC and SEO specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.
* Provide continuous coaching and professional development opportunities, helping team members enhance their skills and achieve personal and career growth.
* Set clear objectives and KPIs for team members, ensuring alignment with department goals and providing constructive feedback to drive performance.
* Promote cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring seamless cooperation between Performance, Customer Success, Martech, and Creative teams to optimize campaign success.
* Inspire the team to embrace innovation, operational excellence, and continuous learning to achieve outstanding results in every project.
Requirements:
* 7+ years in performance marketing with leadership across SEO and Paid Media, ideally in B2B tech or SaaS contexts.
* Proven track record in driving measurable growth across the full funnel, using both content-led SEO and paid acquisition strategies.
* Experience in leading and scaling performance teams: setting goals, coaching specialists, and creating a high-accountability culture.
* Ability to think strategically, guide client performance direction, and step in during escalations or growth opportunities.
* Strong understanding of campaign architecture, funnel metrics, and attribution modeling.
* Familiarity with AI tools that enhance SEO (e.g., keyword clustering, brief generation) and Paid (e.g., predictive bidding, creative testing), or a strong interest in adopting them.
* Proficiency in key tools: GA4, Looker Studio, Google Ads, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Meta Ads Manager, and Google Search Console.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills: able to lead high-level client discussions and cross-functional collaboration.
* Bonus: Experience evolving service offerings, pricing models, or workflows in a growing agency.
