We are looking for a Middle+ Business Analyst to join a project for our client. The project involves an existing software product, and we are looking for someone who can quickly understand its business logic and processes and take ownership of their area. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-organized, and able to independently identify problems, clarify requirements, propose solutions, and move tasks forward without constant supervision.
Responsibilities • Gather, analyze, validate, and document business and product requirements. • Decompose business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and other relevant BA artifacts. • Work closely with the Product Owner and development team to clarify requirements and translate business needs into actionable tasks. • Manage and refine the backlog, prioritize requirements and functionality, and recommend the most appropriate implementation sequence. • Track and assess changes in requirements throughout development. • Analyze existing product functionality, business logic, dependencies, gaps, and potential improvements. • Participate in backlog refinement, planning, and other Agile activities. • Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, designers, Project Managers, and client representatives. • Work with existing designs and design systems in Figma and formulate clear requirements for UI/UX tasks. • Document business processes and use appropriate modelling techniques when needed. • Conduct competitor and market analysis when required. • Participate in pre-discovery and discovery activities when required. • Perform smoke testing and validate completed features against requirements and acceptance criteria before acceptance.
Key Skills and Experience • 2+ years of experience in Business Analysis in software development projects. • Experience working on outsourcing projects. • Ability to quickly onboard into an existing product, understand its functionality, business logic, and backlog. • Strong knowledge of requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, documentation, and prioritization. • Strong understanding of functional and non-functional requirements, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. • Experience creating business and technical documentation. • Knowledge of BA modelling techniques and notations, including UML and BPMN. • Strong backlog management and requirements change management skills. • Ability to prioritize functionality based on business value, dependencies, and project context. • Ability to explain and defend prioritization and product recommendations. • Practical understanding of software testing and feature acceptance. • Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum. • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Figma. • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Languages • English — Upper-Intermediate / Advanced (B2+/C1), mandatory. The candidate must be able to confidently communicate with English-speaking clients and team members, participate in calls and discussions, and independently prepare professional project documentation in English. • German — nice to have, but not required.
