Softgile is growing its training and certification business, and we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to lead sales and help expand our professional education programs.
Right now, our main offerings are Kanban University courses and ITIL certifications (PeopleCert), but this role isn’t just about selling those — it’s about shaping what we offer next, based on what clients actually need. You’ll have a big head start here: Softgile already works with many enterprise clients through our Atlassian, ITSM, and IT consulting services, so you can sell training directly into those existing relationships, alongside bringing in new clients and new certification partners.
Requirements
Experience * 2+ years of B2B sales or business development experience in corporate training, EdTech, IT services, or certification programs. * Proven track record selling to corporate decision-makers (HR/L&D directors, IT leaders, CTOs, Engineering & Delivery Managers). * Hands-on experience with Pipedrive or an equivalent structured CRM, with rigorous pipeline management habits.
Skills & approach * A consultative, value-driven approach focused on long-term client enablement and learning outcomes rather than transactional selling. * Ability to listen to client feedback, identify market trends, and recognize viable new training topics or certifications to add to the portfolio. * Self-starter mindset, comfortable building out processes, testing commercial offers, and scaling a business line with high ownership.
Language * English at B2+/C1 level, fluent in written and spoken communication for international clients, global partners, and proposal drafting
Responsibilities Sales & client management * Manage the full sales process for Kanban University and ITIL (PeopleCert) courses — from first contact to closed deal — for corporate clients, team training packages, and public course schedules. * Reach out to companies that already work with Softgile on Atlassian, ITSM, or consulting services, and offer them training programs. Main contacts will be CTOs, Heads of Delivery, IT Service Leads, and HR/L&D directors. * Understand each client’s specific problems and put together training proposals, learning plans, and pricing that fit their needs.
Portfolio & partnership development * Talk to clients to understand what skills their teams are missing, and use that insight to keep improving and expanding our course offerings. * Look for new training partners to work with (for example, in Agile, DevOps, Product Management, or Cloud/ITSM certifications), and help bring them on board.
Coordination & operations * Stay in regular contact with Kanban University, PeopleCert, and other trainers to coordinate schedules and make sure everything meets accreditation requirements. * Keep all deals, client information, and sales forecasts organized and up to date in Pipedrive. * Work with the Marketing team on campaigns, webinars, and other ways to attract new leads. * Work with the delivery team to combine training with other technical projects we’re already doing for clients.
Nice to have
Domain knowledge * Familiarity with Kanban, ITIL, Scrum, or modern ITSM/Agile practices. * Understanding of how enterprise tooling (Atlassian, Jira, Jira Service Management) connects with process training.
Industry connections * Prior experience dealing with certification and examination bodies (e.g., Kanban University, PeopleCert, Scrum.org, PMI, DevOps Institute).
Working conditions
Work format & compensation * Fully remote work. B2B contract. * Competitive base salary with an uncapped, transparent performance-based commission structure.
Time off * 24 days of paid annual leave, 6 paid sick days, 3 additional paid days off, plus public holidays.
Growth & opportunity * Direct access to Softgile’s warm enterprise client roster and consulting accounts for cross-selling. * Direct influence over which training products, partnerships, and certifications Softgile launches next. * Access to professional training and certification programs, including Kanban, ITIL, and future partner courses.
Support & tools * Company-provided equipment and licensed toolset (Pipedrive, workspace tools, etc.). * Company-covered business travel for key industry events, client meetings, and partner conferences when relevant. * Tight collaboration with internal solution architects, Agile consultants, and Atlassian experts on technical discovery calls.
