We are expanding our network of Applied AI and Generative AI Engineers who can build reliable, secure, and production-ready AI functionality rather than only experimental prototypes.
About the Role:
As an Applied AI / Generative AI Engineer, you will design and implement AI-powered product features, intelligent assistants, copilots, agentic workflows and Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems.
You may work with startups building new AI-first products or established companies integrating Generative AI into SaaS platforms, internal tools, enterprise systems and customer-facing applications.

Responsibilities: * Design and develop production-ready applications powered by Large Language Models; * Build RAG pipelines covering data ingestion, chunking, indexing, retrieval, reranking and response generation; * Develop AI agents and workflows that interact with APIs, tools, databases and external services; * Integrate OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, open-source or self-hosted models; * Build reusable backend services and APIs for AI functionality; * Develop evaluation frameworks for model quality, retrieval quality, tool usage and task completion; * Implement guardrails, output validation, access controls and hallucination mitigation; * Monitor and improve reliability, latency, token consumption and infrastructure cost; * Turn proofs of concept into secure and maintainable production solutions; * Participate in technical discovery, estimation, architecture discussions, code reviews and documentation; * Communicate with client-side engineers, product managers and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements: * 4+ years of professional software engineering experience; * At least 2 years of hands-on work with AI/ML or LLM-powered systems, including production or advanced commercial projects; * Strong knowledge of Python and backend software engineering practices; * Practical experience with at least one commercial or open-source LLM ecosystem; * Hands-on experience building RAG applications or AI agents; * Understanding of embeddings, vector search, prompt and context engineering, tool calling and structured outputs; * Experience designing and consuming REST APIs; * Experience with SQL and at least one NoSQL or vector database; * Experience with Docker and at least one major cloud platform; * Ability to write testable, maintainable and observable production code; * Understanding of AI security, privacy, evaluation and responsible AI practices; * English level B2 or higher; * Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a remote international team.
